Based at SOKENDAI in Hayama Town on the Pacific Ocean, we study the ecology of marine predators, such as pelagic sharks, using miniaturized animal-borne sensors, or biologging technology. Our aims are to uncover remarkable animal behavior and physiological phenomena and to understand their implications for the animals' survival, reproduction, and evolution.
