Based at SOKENDAI in Hayama Town on the Pacific Ocean, we study the ecology of marine predators such as pelagic sharks. We use miniaturized animal-borne sensors, or biologging technology. Our aims are to find remarkable animal behavior and physiological phenomena and to reveal what they mean for animals’ survival, reproduction, and evolution.
