Professor Emeritus Tomoko Ohta, who proposed the Near Neutral Theory, was awarded the title of Distinguished Professor at SOKENDAI (October 1, 2025). Prof. Ohta is a renowned scholar known for her historic work establishing the central theoretical framework of the synthesis in modern evolutionary biology. We RCIES, as an evolutionary center, it is very honorable to welcome Prof. Ohta as a Distinguished professor of SOKENDAI.
